Dear Camp Sunshine Friends,

In 1987, when Dorothy Jordan asked me to take the job as Executive Director of Camp Sunshine, I said I would do so for one year. I was a nurse, and I just knew I would return to a career in nursing. That was 36 years ago! It has been an incredible honor to lead this organization, alongside such gifted and committed staff, loyal volunteers and supporters, and strong, visionary board leadership. I will be eternally grateful for the privilege of caring for the children and families who are a part of our Camp Sunshine community.

It is with this deep commitment to Camp Sunshine that I am announcing my retirement. I will continue to lead our team in the coming months as the board begins the process of identifying the next Executive Director for Camp Sunshine. I am dedicated to our Camp Sunshine family and to a smooth transition moving forward.

I thank you – our donors, families, volunteers, staff, and leadership for your constant support over the past 36 years. I look forward to Camp Sunshine’s bright future in the extraordinarily capable hands of our staff and board.
